SPECIAL TRIPS
FORDILÂNDIA
Almost 100 years ago, Henry Ford established an ambitious venture on the Tapajós River to supply rubber to the then newly inaugurated global automotive industry. Fordilândia was his eccentric experience of a typical American village in the middle of the Amazon. The project is far from being a success story. But, even in ruins, the village preserves buildings that are witnesses of architectural richness and a landmark of one of the most important eras in the world and in our country. On this trip, we take you to learn about the rubber cycle in the Amazon and learn more about this interesting (and curious) moment of our history.
