When packing for the trip, imagine that you are going to spend a season at the beach. What do you usually take? You will need basically the same items.

• Add long pants and sneakers for walks in the woods, and consider that they might get dirty.

• At many points during the tours, we stopped for a swim. Pack several swimwear and beach cover-ups in your suitcase.

• The region is hot at all times of the year, so light clothing is more pleasant, however, a light jacket for the air conditioning is welcome.

• Forget high heels. Take only flip-flops or sandals.

• A hat is a must!

• Sunscreen is extremely important!

• Insect repellent (you won't use much, but it's a good idea to bring)

• Small backpack for the hikes

• Waterproof or zip-lock bags to protect items in your backpack

• A lightweight raincoat

• Flashlight

Choose comfortable clothes for the flight to the Amazon and back home, keeping in mind the temperature of the flight and in your city of origin.

Once we start navigating, there is no possibility of purchasing medicines. Therefore, take all the items you usually need, even medication that you use sporadically.

IMPORTANT: If you are allergic to insect bites, take antihistamines prescribed by your doctor, and please inform people in your travel group about these precautions.

Being in the Amazon is an invitation to reflect on our role in preserving the planet's natural resources. Every action to reduce environmental impact is a way of respecting, honoring, and thanking our forest. Some tips:

• Water bottle – Always carry your water bottle with you during the trip. This way, we avoid the consumption of plastic bottles and considerably reduce the volume of waste generated on the trip.

• Biodegradable Cosmetics – Waste from all body or hair products ends up in river waters. Therefore, avoid using cosmetics that are not biodegradable. But don't worry, our team has already selected delicious local amenities for you to try during your trip and reduce your ecological footprint.

To buy crafts and other forest products in most riverside communities and villages, you will need to have cash to avoid missing the chance to buy amazing original products on offer. This source of income is essential so that our tour hosts can live sustainably, through their knowledge and traditions.

As it is not possible to pay by credit card or bank transfer, we suggest that you reserve around R$ 500.00 in small notes.

Being offline is part of this unique travel experience. There is no cell phone service or internet connection during most of the navigation, with the exception of the beginning and the end, when we are close to the village. Don't forget to let your family know you will be offline before boarding, and enjoy your digital detox!

Good news: all areas of the boat have air conditioning.

Yes! There are 110V electric sockets in your cabin that work when the boat's generator is on. If the generator is off and you need to use them, talk to the captain.

Navigating on the river is much smoother than on the sea. Reports of seasickness on the boat are very rare.

Most people stay barefoot on the boat. If you prefer, take a pair of flip-flops.

Luckily for us, mosquitoes don't like the acidity of the waters of the Tapajós and Arapiuns rivers and will look for other places to breed. In the Amazon we can find some, as it is a river rich in nutrients, but nothing compared to the beaches on the coast of Brazil. Other insects may be attracted, at dusk, by the boat's lights, however most of them are harmless and do not cause discomfort to travelers.

When visiting a community or village, remember that you will be in their homes. Don't take photos of people without first asking permission.

If the community has social networks, take a great shot and remember to post and tag their social media profile (@). This way you can help promoting it.

For the sake of safety in the digital environment, avoid posting photos that include children.

Rules to observe while on board

• There is a hierarchy in navigation and the highest authority is the captain. If he/she considers it necessary, he/she may change itineraries, taking into account weather conditions.

• Do not enter the water without the captain's permission. He is the one who will indicate when we are properly docked and in waters suitable for diving.

• It is prohibited to enter the water with the boat engine running.

• Don't even think about jumping into the water from the upper decks.

• Walk carefully in the boat, without running.

• On speedboats and motorboats we wear life jackets at all times.

Rules when disembarking

We will be traveling in a natural environment, a habitat for wild animals, and the risks are extremely low if we take some precautions:

• In the forest, follow the guide's instructions, do not leave the main trail and stay with the group.

• Some river beaches may have stingrays, especially in still waters. The crew will show you the safest place to dive and teach you the trick of moving your feet to keep them away ;)

• We will sail along the equator and the sun is extremely intense. Don't neglect sun protection!
