ATODI VILLAGE
AN IMMERSION THROUGH THE FOREST TO DISCOVER ITS MEDICINES AND THE VALUE OF ITS INDIGENOUS IDENTITY.
Located on the banks of the Arapiuns River, on a stunning point of sand, the village is home to 60 families and approximately 150 people. Several activities promote the community's livelihood, such as the harvest of buriti seeds to sell in the city of Alter do Chão, the production of flour, and mainly activities aimed at sustainable tourism, such as trails, the restaurant that serves typical food, and the hammock house to welcome travelers who wish to stay overnight.
ATODI AND THE RECONNECTION WITH THE INDIGENOUS ANCESTRY
In 2021, the community went through a process of self-declaration of its status as an indigenous village, following the efforts of the leadership of the community's women's group. These efforts were awarded official recognition by FUNAI. With many incentives for development, the community is a special point to welcome travelers and share the wisdom of the forest and its traditions with everyone who arrives with respect and an open heart.
